Features of HowNowLite

HowNowLite provides you with all the features and functions of a document management system tailored to suit the needs of a small business.

There are three main components of HowNowLite - Contacts, Knowledge and Records - as well as the pre-installed TemplatesNow documents, as set out below. In addition, you will have access to unlimited telephone and web-based technical support, online training sessions and software upgrades.

1. Contacts

This is where all of your business' contacts are stored. You are able to create contacts directly in HowNowLite or, if you already have an existing contacts database, we are able to set up a connection which connects HowNowLite to this database.

Unlike with other document management systems, you do not need to maintain multiple contact databases when using HowNowLite.

2. Knowledge

The Knowledge component of HowNowLite helps you to capture the "way you do things" in your business. It enables the centralised sharing of all of your business' "knowledge", including policies, procedures and templates relating to how jobs are to be carried out for your customers or clients, position descriptions, reference materials (for example, notes from training courses) and marketing materials (for example, logos, newsletter templates and advertising brochures).

3. Records

The Records component of HowNowLite offers you the most efficient solution to your document management needs. It allows you to store all "finished" or "work in progress" documents that have been created for a particular customer or client or for your own internal purposes. This includes all of your communications with your customers or clients, whether by letter or email. 

It is genuinely easy to search for documents stored in HowNowLite. Being able to do a keyword search across all customers or clients simultaneously means less time is spent searching for and retrieving customer or client records, meaning your staff have more time to focus on other work.

4. TemplatesNow

HowNowLite comes pre-installed with TemplatesNow documents. These documents are created by businessfitness and include standard procedures, checklists, letters and forms covering areas such as human resources, finance, administration and marketing.

The templates that are supplied provide a great starting point for you to produce your own complete set of policies, procedures and standard documents as they can be customised to suit the nature of your business. Your existing documents can be also be added, meaning that all of your policies, procedures and standard documents will be conveniently located together in the one place.
