Why we do what we do

In mid-2001, Business Fitness identified that accounting firms lacked a simple way of standardising and systemising their businesses.

Whilst most accounting firm partners and other leaders related to the ‘systemise your business’ and ‘work on your business, not just in your business’ messages championed by Michael Gerber in his E-Myth books, few know exactly how to go about doing this.

Recognising that there were no tools available to make this easy, Business Fitness developed the HowNow and TemplatesNow systems and tools. Today, these systems and tools are used by over 6,000 Australian users practising in all kinds and sizes of accounting firms.

Our people

All Business Fitness staff are specialists in what they do, and include:

• Qualified CPAs who are responsible for keeping our TemplatesNow documents up-to-date with relevant legislative requirements and industry best practice.
• Skilled software programmers who are responsible for the continuing development of our existing software products to make sure they always remain fit for purpose for Australian accountants, as well as developing new software products which further support the streamlining of processes and improving of efficiency.
• Client managers who look after our clients, making sure that they are deriving maximum benefit from using our tools effectively and to their best advantage. Members of our client management team have years of accounting industry experience which makes them well placed to understand the needs of our clients.

• Our systems and tools are constantly evolving in parallel to the needs of our clients to make sure they always remain fit for purpose. That we have released 150 updates to our standard workpapers and other templates documents since 2001 is testament to this.
• Our support and training services are recognised as amongst the best in the business. We have over a 90 per cent retention rate for our subscription clients, which is evidence of the quality of these services.
